If you aren’t sure who your federal representatives are, there’s a handy tool to find their contact info. You can also look up your congressional district and search that way. I sent the following email template to my reps — it falls under the 2000 character limit that some of the input forms enforce 🙂

I’m writing to express my urgent concern for our federal government. I am a member of <Congressional district>.
As you’re no doubt aware, President Trump and his allies have all but shuttered USAID. This is the latest in a flurry of reports that DOGE agents, under Elon Musk, are are working to infiltrate the electronic systems of the OMB, the Treasury, and other departments. Meanwhile, President Trump is installing unqualified political loyalists in the place of non-partisan civil servants. There is no need to mince words: this is a coup d’état.
After failing to capture the support of the US military to illegally prolong his first term, President Trump and his Project 2025 collaborators are now attempting an administrative takeover. We’ve already seen the deadly results: 9 days after Trump disbanded the Aviation Security Advisory Committee, 67 people died in a preventable air crash over the Potomac River. If we allow Trump and Musk to continue to avariciously and capriciously dismantle our government, the American people will bear the brunt of untold more tragedies like this one.
I urge you to consider the following:
A) Use your position to sound the alarm. Demand the attention of the news media and call this what it is: a coup.
B) Block and delay the takeover of our institutions by any means at your disposal.
C) Continue to deny the appointment of President Trump’s unfit and malicious operatives to federal office.
D) Know that you have the support of your constituents and the majority of the American people in this fight.Sincerely,
