I overlooked it when they started interviewing right wing Christian pastors and allowing them to spew hatred. I overlooked it yesterday when the reporting on “pink slime” news sites zeroed in on “26 Democrat run news sites that only promote certain Democratic candidates.”
WTF is the internet for if people cannot create a site to promote the candidate they like?
They delicately tiptoed around using the phrase “fake news” and completely avoided discussing the countless right wing personal news sites that promote the kind of hatred that makes someone go to a Democratic congressperson’s house to try to murder them, their family, and their dog, or beat their husband’s head in with a hammer.
Today they did an entire segment on how far Saudi Arabia has come and praised MBS (Mr. Bone Saw) for trying to improve the country’s economy through tourism. Like, NPR… journalists? This is the Saudi leader whose government tortured and murdered an American journalist.
The whole theme felt like low key encouragement for Americans to visit Saudi Arabia and contribute to helping MBS murder more journalists.
I know Trump defunded NPR, but I would rather see it go away entirely than become this monster.
Someone please tell me that you know, personally, that they are not actively going MAGA. My mind is still open but I am about to deprogram 94.9 from my car radio because this is disturbing. It’s not an attempt to appear unbiased per their usual, but a full glazing of an authoritarian who murders journalists?
And not for nothing, because I know they lost funding, but yesterday they aired a 15 second commercial for a beer company too. Not a “this company sponsors us” acknowledgment, but an actual ad.
