Two views of the world’s longest floating bridge — SR 520 from the Arboretum

Fun fact: this bridge doesn’t sit on the lake, it floats on it. The whole span rides on 77 concrete pontoons — the 21 biggest are 360 feet long and weigh 11,000 tons each. They were built in Aberdeen and towed here through the Ship Canal, and the bridge opened in April 2016, taking the world’s-longest-floating-bridge record from the 1963 bridge it replaced.
