SPS announced a massive budget gap and doesn’t seem to have plans for how to bridge it. Then there’s everything that’s going on with federal funding and the Department of Education, not to mention likely legal fights with the fed over DEI. I can’t help but think this will have a negative impact on even the currently well-rated schools in the district – e.g., Ballard High. But I’m just a worried parent. Does anyone have a more informed perspective on how things will play out for our students and teachers? Is there reason to hope it won’t be really bad?
