Merchant Cafe has reopened

The Merchant Cafe in Pioneer Square closed at the end of last year to a bunch of news and proclamation of Seattle’s death.

I was in Pioneer Square for dinner last night (Damn the Weather, great spot) and lo and behold Merchant Cafe is reopened! I went in for a drink and spoke with the bartender, and apparently it was always closing for renovations and planned to reopen. In fact the bartender said he TOLD the news crew that the closure was for a temporary remodel, but they ran with Seattle Is Dying instead. More clicks that way I guess.

It’s wild that no matter what happens, we only hear about the bad news. Merchant Cafe is still alive though!
