You can now text or chat with your poison center

Hey Seattle! Your local poison center here. Normally we share educational information with you, but we’re shaking things up today with some exciting news. You can now text us or chat with us when you need Poison Help, instead of having to call our 1-800 number. We’re hoping this will expand accessibility and ensure you can reach us whenever and however you need us:

• Text us at 206-526-2121
• Visit wapc.org to initiate a live chat
• Call the Poison Helpline at 1-800-222-1222

A couple things to note: texting and chatting are free and available 24/7/365, just like our telephone line. Text and chat are currently only available in English though, so you’ll need to call us if you need free interpretation in other languages. All text and chat interactions are handled by LIVE poison specialists (aka a pharmacist or a nurse)– no robots, no AI.
