A public apology from a Capitol Hill Lyft driver to one of my neighbors..

I feel really terrible about an unfortunate interaction I had with a passenger earlier tonight that, honestly, forced me to voluntarily give up driving for the rest of the night.

You were trying to order a ride for your friend under his account and there was a misunderstanding that escalated into my being abusive and angry. It should’ve never happened and I am so sorry.

I drove to the “pin” but you couldn’t find me. We exchanged messages as your time was ticking down, and when you finally caught up to me, you questioned why I was in that alley. I told you I drove to the pin but then, I just went sideways.

I shouted, I was inappropriate and it was not in any way your fault. Though it’s no excuse, the GPS tools for ride share have been terrible for everyone, lately. That was the third time in as many rides that the pin location was an unreasonable distance from my passenger, which was frustrating. Also, I’ve had some pretty hard times in my personal life where I’ve suffered some spiritual defeats, so I was already having a rough day/night.

Again… it’s no excuse but does maybe offer some insight as to why it was so out of character for me. I actually really love driving as a part time gig and have met so many wonderful people. I didn’t even give you dudes a chance and it’s left me feeling sad and even more defeated.

Please DM ME if you see or hear about this posting. I really want to make amends and, at the very least, pay you back for getting charged. Because your time had technically expired, it defaulted to a No Show when I canceled the ride.

I owe you probably 10 bucks, I’d say.. also, I live here in the neighborhood and want to continue to serve everyone here with courtesy, respect, and kindness. I failed to do that and will try to make it right, however I can.

Let me know the four letter name of the person’s account so I know it’s real… I can make arrangements to meet and give you your money back, buy you a drink, or both
