I placed a delivery order (Bellevue location) which had approximately $150 worth of frozen foods.
The chap from the store called me 1400 hrs, told me he was preparing my order. He wanted to confirm substitution of a few items. All good.
The order was delivered at 1700 hrs. ALL frozen items were fully defrosted. I mean they were at room temperature!
It’s unsafe to refreeze thawed items so I emailed the owner explaining what had occurred. This is food safety 101.
They replied saying, we’d get a full refund and they’d send a chap to collect the spoilt food for the refund.
My communication was with only the owner; I wasn’t sure if they’d let their people know not to refreeze but to bin it all.
As a precaution I wrote with marker, “do not buy or sell”. I was concerned about these spoilt items being returned to their freezers. This can be very dangerous to the end consumer.
The owner has refused the refund because I marked the items.
Why would it matter that they’d been marked if they were for the bin? Hmm?
I feel sure the owner was going to refreeze and sell on.
Please be aware and maybe get frozen items from India Supermarket.
Apna Bazar has dangerous food safety practices. Please be careful.
The Bellevue mods removed my post, without explanation.
