As title says, I was cycling north on 12th in capitol hill on my commute today. As I am crossing Madison on a green, a car speeds up and pulls a right on red turn signal right into my path. Had to hard slam the breaks to avoid getting hit. There was an SPD car literally one car behind the offending vehicle. I frantically flailed my arms and gestured at him and to the car like “hello?” The cop just drives on like nothing happened. I am not surprised at all that we are failing on our “vision zero” directive when cops seem to do absolutely nothing about the worst offenses happening right in front of their eyes. What exactly am I paying taxes for their 6 figure salaries for?
