Apartment building fire alarms

I moved from Ballard to Bellevue recently… both buildings I’ve lived in have had excessive fire alarms, having 2-3 alerts per week. Is this just an accepted thing with Seattle apartments? I moved from DC and we had alarms ever 2-3 months (which seemed excessive at the time), and I’m really wondering if it’s just bad luck or this is a part of life in PNW.
