Hello, writing this post here for everyone’s awareness: please avoid going to ZoomCare (particularly the one in Kirkland). My wife went there for an eye problem which the FNP there highly exaggerated to be a retinal detachment problem and tried to portray it as an emergency and a very complex situation. After 30-40 minutes of back and forth, he conceded that it wasn’t retinal detachment and just gave her an ibuprofen prescription. At that point in time, ZoomCare’s website said that visits can cost around $260 (which was a lot but that’s a separate issue). However, we got a bill of $400 with a level 5 coding (meant for emergencies). Now we have been asking for a justification about the charges and they are being very evasive. This is shady af.
We are highly dissatisfied with this whole incident and ZoomCare charging $400 for an ibuprofen prescription (which didn’t even solve her problem) is highly exaggerated and deceptive. Hope this post helps someone and please do comment if you have had a similar experience.
EDIT: To be clear, this wasn’t an actual emergency. We consulted another doctor and he guided us better and actually resolved the issue. ZoomCare charged us more AND didn’t solve the problem. $400 for a visit that ends in an ibuprofen prescription is unjustified and unacceptable IMO.
