Ballard Property with Storied History on the Market

Ballard Property with Storied History on the Market

(Note, this post is sarcasm – not a promotion)

4500 NW Leary Way — Ballard property that has long been a hub for questionable activities is on the market.

This region of Ballard has become overrun with homeless encampments, RVs, copper theft, and drug activities. This property has a storied history including:

  • A 2009 SWAT raid recovering pipe bombs, silencers, stolen firearms, and stolen vehicles.
  • A 2017 incident of a man being doused in flammable liquid and set on fire.
  • Various 2026 police actions by the city of Seattle.

Added perk: As I drove past this morning there was a man walking out of the building holding a one-handed crossbow. Great neighborhood!

In all honesty though I will be glad to see this property sold. Eliminating markets for stolen property and drugs should help Ballard recover.
