Hi everyone! I’m the founder of a small local pet-care platform called SafePawz.
I started building it because finding someone to care for your pet can feel like a gamble. You’re trusting someone with your pet, your home, your keys and sometimes medication or detailed care instructions.
I’ve been on both sides of the experience. As a sitter, it can be difficult entering a care situation without enough information. As an owner, choosing someone from a profile can feel like a huge gamble.
A lot of apps are designed to make booking as fast and transactional as possible, but I don’t think pet care should work that way. Every pet has different routines, personalities and needs, so I wanted to build something that encourages owners and sitters to share detailed information and highlight pet care professionals who are really passionate about doing the work and don’t get buried in a sea of profiles.
We personally review sitter applications, conduct video interviews, contact references, verify experience and require background checks before approving anyone. Owners can also schedule a complimentary meet-and-greet before booking.
We’re still early and gradually expanding around Seattle and the Eastside. We offer dog walks, drop-ins, overnight care, cat care and boarding where available.
