Bikers, be careful out there…

A few days ago, I rode my bike to work because the weather was really nice. I got off a little past 11pm and started riding home north on Alaskan Way.

At the block where it intersects Wall Street on the waterfront, an emaciated looking black lady, about 5’7″, probably 105lbs (skinny as hell) and short afro-curl hair with a pastel-colored tote bag, was walking in the road, but off to the side. She saw me, and chucked her large tote bag full of stuff about ten feet in front of my bicycle as I was in motion. I was moving at a pretty good clip, so I had no time to react and ended up with my front wheel dragging the bag across the street while my back wheel was skidding and fishtailing for a good twenty-five feet. She was maliciously smiling as she had thrown down the bag onto the ground. I somehow recovered myself without falling and looked back, while telling her “Nice try, you fucking bitch!” I rode off in a hurry because I wasn’t interested in seeing what would happen if I stuck around.

Crazy thing about this is that I knew people had done this to people in the past, but it completely caught me off guard. I’m lucky I was wearing my helmet at least, and I called 911 to report it afterwards while riding away on my bike. I really hope I broke something valuable of hers.

Anyone biking in downtown Seattle might wanna be on the lookout for this lady. She seems dangerous and unstable, lord knows what could have happened, had I eaten shit. I’m lucky I didn’t, because I could have been seriously injured, and I cannot afford that right now.
