If you hang out around the market, you’ve probably stopped by The Crumpet Shop at least once. They’ve been at that location since the late 1970’s and still serve hot homemade crumpets and loose-leaf tea. My mom used to go there before I was born, and I used to love stopping by there on my lunch breaks when I worked downtown. Sadly, it hasn’t happened much since I started working from home.
However, I just learned that they opened a second location in Edmonds! It’s in the space of the former Copper Rose bakery, right next to Molly Moon’s and Jonny Mo’s Pizzeria.
If you live in the north end, skip the lines at the market and go get a crumpet! If you hate parking in Edmonds, the 909 runs a circuit route between downtown Edmonds and the MLT transit station all day.
Best crumpets IMO: smoked salmon cream cheese with cucumbers, and the Nutella-ricotta (I like it without butter, but you do you).
