The city allows prostitution activity to continue in residential neighborhoods while fully aware of the violence that comes with it — shootings, assaults, and armed pimps fighting over our neighborhood. These conditions did not happen by accident. City leaders made the conscious choice to stop enforcing prostitution laws for years, even after new laws like SOAP were signed, despite repeated warnings from residents and mounting violence tied to the trade.
