Hi, this post is by no means a desperate attempt to find a partner immediately. I am 24 years old, and I live with 2 other guys in a small apartment. Both of them are above the age of 30 (one of them is literally 37) and they haven’t been able to find someone yet and I doubt they’ll get married once they are 40. I just moved to Bellevue a few months ago, and while I wasn’t consciously thinking about dating, hearing these stories about how difficult dating is in Seattle and stuff like that from my roommates have definitely shaken my confidence.
I’ve heard people talk about the Seattle Freeze, if that’s a thing, and I don’t want to believe in it (although I hate the weather). Even though I have plenty of time to figure stuff out, I don’t want to end up like them – they would literally do anything to get married.
But honestly, is it really that hard to find a person to date? I really feel sorry for them – both of them are so generous and have always helped me out since I moved here.
To make matters worse, I don’t have a car, so I haven’t been able to travel much. I spend my weekends eating out or watching movies.
For all the people living in Bellevue –
- How did you meet your partner or build your social circle here?
- Are there specific places, events, or communities worth checking out?
- Any advice for someone new who wants to put themselves out there without relying completely on dating apps?
- And is it REALLY that bad?
I’m not in a rush to get married but I don’t want to look back 10 years from now and regret my decisions for not putting myself out there
