Hi all, I am looking to enroll my son in a day care near our home in Bellevue around 148th St (around Microsoft Redwest campus). He has been a nanny at our home since he was 6 months old. He is a happy, healthy child who loves to play around other children, and explores independently (unless he sees his mother, then he wants to sit on her lap).
Do you have advice on how to think about what will work best for him? I have some questions to ask on tours but I need community opinion as well –
- pros and cons of center-based and home-based day cares?
- how do you decide on montessori vs other models?
- if you have experience with a young toddler in day care, how did the baby learn to nap & eat at the center? These are my biggest worries. My son isn’t sleep trained, he takes one nap a day, but co-sleeps at night. With food, he eats well, but doesn’t eat on his own yet
- does camera feed help or add to anxiety?
- when I schedule these tours, any chance they’d let me visit during working hours so I can see the teachers in action?
