Does anyone know what this Seattle Times letter is taking about? “My Seattle enclave, which nourished us all, will never be the same”

There is an op ed in the Seattle Times today talking about a public gathering place in Licton Springs which is getting redeveloped: My Seattle enclave, which nourished us all, will never be the same.

Does anyone know where they are talking about? I’ve lived in Licton Springs for 5 years, and have no idea what this is referring to. The author provides no clear clues about where it is, she says that the name is supposedly “Giant Yard” or “Big Big Hill” but searching for that doesn’t reveal anything (I guess that’s just what her kids call it).

If there’s a nice park in my neighborhood then I’d like to check it out with my kids. I’m curious whether this is private property where the previous owners have allowed a handful of families who know the secret spot to play in their yard or if it’s something that everyone else in the neighborhood knew about but me. Either way, I’m sorry to hear that a lovely garden is being redeveloped, but I do also recognize that more housing is an important community benefit too.
