Dog Surrender

Hi everyone,

Where should I go to surrender a dog? I REFUSE to dump him at a shelter or any type of temporary care / foster care situation.

-Beautiful, phenomenal ~1y3mo old pit bull / lab mix. -before you chide me, I did not adopt this dog. My ex did, dumped him on me and moved across the country. (We did long distance temporarily, I reluctantly agreed to care for the dog during this period and she refused to take him after breaking up). Complete villain. Despicable behavior. If I could blackball her from ever adopting again I would. -I am obsessed with this dog and would keep him under different circumstances, but I make crumbs in research and live in a 270 sq ft apartment with a cat (dog loves cat). I don’t have the time or money to provide him the care he requires, and it’s causing me significant stress. -does anyone have any advice re where to look for a good home for him? Let me re emphasize how attached I am to him 😭 I want to find and carefully vet a good potential owner / family for him. If there are any issues, problems, ANYTHING I will take him back in a heartbeat until I can find another home. -this situation sucks. Thank you for your help. -additional notes about him: he is a sweetheart and I’ve had no issues with him, but training is lacking. I’ve never had a dog and literally don’t have the time or experience beyond very basic commands. My ex as you can imagine did jack shit on the training front.
