eastside food is fine but i miss actual homemade meals

Restaurant scene is decent but everything feels corporate and polished, very Bellevue if you know what I mean. What I actually want is food that tastes like someone made it at home with care, not assembled in some commercial kitchen following standardized recipes.

There’s an indian family on shef whose biryani tastes like the homemade food I grew up eating at my friend’s house back in college. Not restaurant indian, actual home cooking with that specific warmth to it.

Bellevue has so many families from different backgrounds and it feels like there’s incredible cooking talent here that doesn’t get talked about bc everyone defaults to lincoln square or whatever’s trendy. Anyone else exploring this?
