Get out your electric bills, I want to know how much electricity other home owners are using. I hear all the time that Seattle is too cloudy and grey to make solar worth it. I have a solar panels on my house, and I average 12 MW of production each year. The vast majority is June through September, basically whenever the dry season starts and ends. But from the averages and medians I can find online, 12 MW far exceeds regular household demand. The exception: huge houses with AC, all electric houses with multiple EVs, etc. but if you heat your house with gas and don’t have AC, then energy consumption is much, much lower than 12 MW. So, I ask you, what’s your electric power consumption? Disclaimer: I don’t work at a solar company and no longer own any stock in any solar company. I’m just a solar enthusiast doing what I can to combat my CO2 production. My perspective is that all houses should have solar, or have as many tall trees on them that the land can support. submitted by /u/drprofessional |
