Hi everyone. I graduated university this year with informatics degree and luckily I could have found a job from one start-up IT company. However, my entire team just got laid off from two months ago, and the job search since then has been brutal. I’ve sent out what feels like a million applications, but the job market doesn’t seem great right now.
Since I need to cover basic expenses like groceries and rent, I’ve started applying to any job I can find—including fast food, retail, and other minimum-wage positions. However, I haven’t heard back from any of them. It’s been so frustrating and discouraging.
Is it just me, or is it really this hard to find a simple job in Seattle right now? Has anyone else been through this? I’d appreciate any advice or insight on what might help.
