Fishing boats in the Sound?

I’ve been noticing quite a few boats with gear in the water these past couple of weeks. Is there a fishing season in effect now, or is this something else entirely?

Edit: So far we have people saying they’re fishing for salmon, fishing for Dungeness, or they’re really ineffective drug boats.
