Mid 20s F here. Just wanted to say today I was followed for about 30 minutes by a man in broad daylight around pike place at about 6:30pm from around the time I was at the target in downtown, all the way down the steps to the waterfront and then back to approximately same place.
I am completely exhausted from my early morning flight and figured I just get some steps in by the waterfront. I clocked it slightly at first but was so tired that, only until a couple frantically ran up to me and sharply warned me that this guy was following me for the longest time and it seemed VERY wrong. He walked off fast as soon as he realized I was being alerted.
Mid 30s medium athletic build black male, long dreads a bit past shoulder length. Green collared shirt and beige shorts. Extremely neatly, even professionally dressed and well put together. Pitch black sunglasses, on his phone and AirPods the whole time loitering about a few feet from me. Again VERY tactful and particular about his movement.
I’m from a big city and visit seattle often for work and I’m so mad I didn’t register it because I have a1 street smarts. I felt generally safe with all the influx of tourists especially but I was detouring to the lesser packed streets. Also have never felt unsafe in this city but this was terrifying once I realized how long this man was behind me. In broad daylight.
Just sad because I’m very shaken up by it and feel a bit stupid. Just wanted to warn other girls walking alone. Keep your eyes peeled always.
