For the love of the P-I globe

I found an image taken by my uncle in 1982 of the Seattle P-I building when the newspaper was at 6th and Wall (1948-1986). I worked under the globe for 10 years when the paper was on the waterfront. Just wondering whether people in Seattle still love that old piece of neon / how they would like to see it preserved, if at all.
