Saw one of these at the airport for the first time at Thanksgiving and again at Christmas, but YouTube videos show them in the SeaTac airport starting in 2024. They are mobility aids that take a person to their destination and then autonomously find their way back to the hub in D concourse. Here is this guy taking a 45 degree turn in D Gates. A lot of people stopped and stared as the chairs went past, although I only saw one guy who stepped in front of one to see what would happen (it stopped, then kept going once he moved). submitted by /u/bennetthaselton |
