This happened around 11pm last night July 9th. My girlfriend and I were leaving The Nest bar and walked by a seemingly homeless / unhoused man who was smacking his dog really hard on the head and then appeared to smother it in a black jacket. Medium sized dog with black and white colors. In front of the Ludi’s restaurant sign.
We crossed the street and called 911 to report it. We didn’t know who else to call. We gave the info we had and described the individual and the dog. It’s now 3am and I can’t stop thinking about that poor dog.
Is there anything else to do? An animal protection service?
