I parked in front of the restaurant Loco Chon at Newcastle Commons and ate lunch inside for 25 minutes and came back seeing a ticket on my car along with nine others around mine with flapping tickets attached to their windshield wipers. I did not realize the street parking is utilizing a private company to issue parking tickets if you do not pre register with Diamond Parking for a free 2 hours of parking. Just around the corner is city parking signs with regular 2 hour limits. How can this be legal. The fee is 20 to 30 times the amount of what the third hour of parking would cost on the sign. i called Diamond Parking and they let me off since it was my first offense. I don’t think I will do business in that area again. Ugh submitted by /u/terryvirdell |
