The intersection in question is S Jackson & 16th Ave S. The traffic on Jackson gets way too backed up for this to be a two-way stop. Cars on 16th trying to go straight through the intersection can’t see if there’s any oncoming traffic in the eastbound lane because visibility is completely obscured by the line of cars backing up in the westbound lane.
This has been part of my commute for a couple years now and I’ve long since given up trying to go straight through myself. However I’m constantly seeing people almost get T-boned here, or stuck at this stop sign for 5+ minutes until they finally give up and make a right turn cause cars behind them are honking.
Seems obvious this needs to be a four-way stop. I did a google search but couldn’t find any kind of form to complain to SDOT about a dangerous intersection. Does something like this even exist?
