I love when people busk on the ferry

I can’t tell you how often i’m on public transportation and think to myself, ‘man, the only thing that could make this experience better is someone’s acoustic guitar, harmonica, and mediocre singing voice!’

My favorite part about it is that I can hear it from pretty much every corner of the boat. It really adds to the atmosphere in a pleasant way 🩷 i was going to spend this time reading or maybe even trying to focus on getting some work done, but I like that this ambiance really forces me to put my attention elsewhere— I couldn’t even focus on my book if I wanted to (and I definitely don’t, this is MUCH better)! Sometimes when people busk on the street I’ll walk past and go about my day— missing out on valuable music experience— but I like that this really doesn’t allow that to be an option at all!

I also love how they don’t take the dirty looks and complete lack of applause as a hint that absolutely no one in this confined public space wants this to be happening (nobody but me, of course!!). The confidence is really inspiring and a valuable lesson about the persistence of An Artist.

Seattle ferry buskers, please never stop— everyone is so happy that you blessed us with your musical talent and absolutely no one had a pit of dread open in their stomach when they saw you pull out that acoustic guitar! I can’t wait to tell my kids someday that I saw the Next Big Thing back when he was just some guy singing on the WSF! ❤️❤️❤️❤️🙌😃😍
