I’ve gotten to know a vendor at my grocery store and he’s a pretty great guy. Very friendly and obviously trying hard to get back on his feet. He recently lost his disability which he got for depression issues and is in serious need of a job.
So far I’ve connected him to SPS where I work, suggested he keep an eye out for janitorial work there as it gets closer to the school year. And I encouraged him to go to WorkSource to get resume help. He does have a long work history of manual labor, construction, truck driving and the like. No felonies on his record. He also has an app he uses for day labor jobs.
Any other suggestions?
