One of my neighbors was truly on top of reporting this serial dumper who has been walking his unwanted furniture and trash across the street to dump on the yard/sidewalk of another building.
Over the course of 3 weeks this guy has dumped shelving, glass jars, boxes, and a mattress. I rescued one of the first shelves a few weeks back and walked the glass to a dumpster, but the mattress has been out there for a week at least. It reached a ridiculous peak today. He dumped three large furniture pieces at once. Within an hour the dumping had been reported, and some guys came out and took care of the stuff.
The only thing is I was really hoping to grab one of the shelves today, I was waiting on a friend who was going to help me move it when the removal truck showed up. Ran out to stop them but they had already destroyed the shelf, RIP (they were very apologetic though). :’) I’m a little disappointed about that shelf but glad that the trash was taken care of so quickly this time around.

- To the guys who removed the trash, y’all were nice and honestly smashing stuff looks like a fun part of the job.
- To the dumper, you’re an ass. I saw you, I saw what building you walked out of with this crap, and I’ll make the report myself next time.
If you need to get rid of furniture that’s in good condition, there’s way better ways than blocking sidewalks and destroying yards in the middle of the city. You don’t even have to pay or transport the stuff. Use local Buy Nothing groups, donate them. For mattresses, you’re probably going to have to pay for someone to haul that out, but if you can’t, idk at least don’t dump it in the yard of place you don’t even live like a complete ass.
