Hi there,
I’m currently an elementary teacher in the Issaquah School District, now in my eighth year here (I previously taught in California for a couple of years before moving to Washington). I previously taught special education and am currently a ML/ELL teacher. During my time in ISD, I’ve worked at several schools across the district, and overall, my experience has been positive. That said, I’ve been splitting my time between two schools over the past couple of years, which isn’t ideal but is the nature of my current role. There’s a chance I could be placed at a single school in the future, which I’d prefer.
Recently, I’ve been considering applying to the Bellevue School District. My child will start Kindergarten in two years, and I’m drawn to BSD because of the variety of choice schools it offers—something ISD unfortunately lacks. We live within the Renton School District boundaries, but I’d like my child to attend school where I work, so transitioning to BSD might make sense for both of us.
I’d love to hear from anyone with insights into working for BSD, especially if you’ve also worked in ISD. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
