iso affordable senior living options?

my dad suddenly passed away, and I’m feeling extremely lost right now. I hope this all makes sense.

I was thinking of seeing if my mom would want to move closer to me now that’s she alone (she currently is not living in the US), but I’m not even sure where to start.

I guess I was wondering if anyone here has any 55+ community or ALF recs? and/or which ones to steer clear of? appreciate any and all help
