Let’s open it up to a brighter future …

The BSD/BSF hasn’t even begun to examine the obvious yet. They’ve taken the instructional view that any form of “School Choice” is anathema and a threat when in fact it’s an extremely healthy evolution in education.

The actual no-brainer is to lease these idled school facilities to private-sector schools and encouraging them through favorable lease terms. Non-traditional – from Bellevue’s historical perspective – are on the rise in our area. The recent proposal for the private Yellow School in Eastgate is just one small indicator of interest. Simply look at the plethora of signs offering private educational opportunities. An affluent area, Bellevue sees the value in education.
