Light Rail Station in South Bellevue – such an odd choice

Just kind of wondering – why did they put the only light rail stop in South Bellevue in Enatai, next to the Blueberry farm, instead of someplace more accessible? Aside from the residents of Enatai and Beaux Arts Village, if you live in South Bellevue you’ll have to take the freeway to get over the Mercer Slough to get to it, which makes it an almost worthless option for commuting. From where I live (Somerset) it generally takes just as long or longer to get to the light rail station as it would to just drive to downtown Bellevue or the MS campus. I know it would have made the route more complicated but man, it would have been so much more useful if they had figured out a way to put the station in Factoria, or maybe the Eastgate Park and Ride or someplace where people who might actually use it to commute actually live. Once they *finally* finish the section that goes over the 90 it might be useful to take to the stadiums or the airport, but even then, a huge chunk of the city’s population will still have to take the freeway to get to the station.
