Looking for advice about rights to a smart door lock on a rental property

I’m a rental tenant who just signed a lease on a property that has a smart door lock, which was listed as an amenity. This is a standalone single family home and I’m the only tenant. The owner is out of state and has remote access to the lock.

I assumed I would have full administrative rights to this lock so that I could set up fingerprint access, temporary access codes, lock/unlock remotely, modify settings, etc. Turns out rather than give me access, the owner wants to continue to administer it and simply set up a code for me.

Any insight on what tenant’s rights I have regarding full use of amenities? I think I’ve read something before, where the landlord can’t restrict access to an amenity, that it must be available for full use if it’s included with the property?

The lease makes no mention of the door lock but it was listed in the ad, and discussed several times during the showing and application process as a feature that I would have use of.

I don’t even know where to search for something like this! Help?
