Man abusing a cat at Kerry Park yesterday

I was at Kerry Park yesterday the 8th at around 7:30 pm. I saw this guy coming up the stairs carrying a carrier with a cat in it. At some point as he came up he shook the carrier up and down aggressively. I stepped to the side really hoping I misjudged the situation. He then proceeded to put the carrier on the ground, grab a stick, and start hitting the cat with it while he told the cat things…. I approached him recording and told him to stop hitting the cat. He started yelling so I walked away. He was clearly not all there, possibly on drugs. I called 911, but by the time they arrived he had already walked away. I was looking from a distance and it did not look like he took the carrier with him, but I could not find the carrier any where so either he did take it or somebody else did. Other people came up to talk to him after I walked away but he stopped hitting the cat by then, so I dont know what they talked about. If anyone knows anything about the cat it would be nice to know that it is safe!
