Posting for awareness. I was just at the totem pole near the Montlake cut, enjoying a peaceful coffee with a friend watching the geese and rowers.
Two off leash dogs started coming down the path towards the geese, so I sent them back up the trail. A few minutes later, an older man comes down the trail and I ask him to leash his dogs as its not legal and there are baby geese that the dogs are attacking. The mom goose was limping and had been previously injured.
He leashed his dogs then marched them down into the corner of the park right where the geese were. They were frozen in fear, the parent geese were going crazy and hissing and flapping, and my friend was behind them against the rail, trying not to get bit by a goose or a dog.
I stepped between him and the geese and loudly told him to leave multiple times. Of course he doubled down all his beliggerent shit about how hes entitled to have his off leash dogs use this public park as his personal hunting grounds. I called spd and filed a report. My friend videoed him shoving into me and putting his hands on my face/neck.
