Mayor Wilson and Governor Ferguson should declare a State of Emergency and direct all city and state resources to prepare for a Minnesota-like invasion of ICE.

I actually really hate to be posting this instead of preparing to enjoy a beautiful weekend, but once again I’m waking up to horrific video of ICE murdering someone.

Collective action is great- I’m signed up for upcoming Rapid Responder trainings and am starting to do active outreach to friends and neighbors, but we need more.

We cannot allow our neighbors and friends in Minnesota to stand alone. The Administration, as evidenced by Vance’s comments that Minnesota is “unique”, wants this to stay isolated there.

We cannot allow that. I’m calling on city council to convene an emergency session and begin making actionable steps and pass legislation immediately to do whatever we can to protect ourselves from the Federal government. I don’t have the answers, but anything less than a complete response is our collective failure.

We owe this to those in our communities who cannot defend themselves, and to ourselves to stand up to a government willing to kill its own citizens just to make a political crisis.
