my landlord won’t fix the electrical issues in my house

I’m renting a home in north Seattle and have been here for almost 2 years. I’ve been a great tenant, paying rent on time, only contacts the property manager when something needs maintenance or repair, keeping my yard tidy, etc. we’ve had a light fixture above our dining room that hasn’t worked in maybe 8 months. I brought this to their attention when it first started, and they sent maintenance to look at it finally 2 months ago. At that time, he told us it was beyond his area of expertise and needed to send an electrician. I’ve been trying to get an update from our property manager about when the repair will take place. I just communicated how it has become somewhat of a safety concern as my vision is very poor in low-light conditions and the lamps we have don’t illuminate the entire room the way the overhead light does. Perhaps I’m complaining about something “small” but I just want the lights in my house to work. It’s dark at 4pm and we have several months of this. I suppose I could buy more lamps, but I’m a college student living paycheck to paycheck and really don’t have the room in my budget to buy more lights/pay more for my electric bill. Any advice or info on what I can do in this situation, if anything? And please try not to bash me for this complaint. I pay a lot in rent (as we all do in Seattle) and think it’s not too much to ask for proper lighting in the midst of winter.
