I saw that there was a post on the beta in May but didn’t see anything recent mentioning the Seattle Public Library app. I feel like it’s way better than I would expect for something like this and they deserve some credit and I hope it’s getting some use.
A lot of apps like this feel like a website thrown into an app but the navigation is great and responsive and it has everything I need. It even looks to cover booking a room which I haven’t tried yet.
My FAVORITE feature though is how well it handles multiple cards. As a parent, trying to manage my card and keep track of my young child’s when he doesn’t have a phone has always been a pain. Honestly, I’m usually checking three cards because when we’re returning books I want to do it all at once so I’m checking if my wife has anything due soon too. This lets me quickly switch instead of logging out and back in. Yes, I have a password manager but it’s still a lot more work to log out and back in than this app. I can be looking at the list of checkouts or holds and switch the account in the menu and it will just update to show the other books for the card. I don’t even need to navigate back.
