I’ve been watching the protests and outcry and I’m proud of our city. I wish I could join but I’m not there. It occurred to me, if anyone is organizing for tomorrow…consider doing it outside of or at tomorrow’s game.
The NFL is one of the only things that draws massive live audiences anymore, and we don’t just have an NFL game tomorrow, we have a semi-final playoff game. Second only to the Super Bowl in audience and importance. Famously, whatever network covers the game always pans out over the stadium and blurbs about the local scenery and weather at every commercial break. How great would it be show the city’s outrage in this moment at that scale. Just a thought…
I’m a big football fan but we all know the NFL are the assholes that did a moment of silence for Charlie fucking Kirk, because they’re capitulating and spineless. But they don’t control the environment in or around the stadium, or what the media covers.
And for those who will comment that football is sacred, apolitical, or too important to disrupt…wake up, and don’t come at me, I’m over that argument
