The Space Needle Corporation has bought Boeing IMAX from the Pacific Science Center. They will no longer show new films like Dune, The Oddessey, and other huge artistic films that were shot specifically for those screens. Instead, they will be showing tourist movies. All those films you would usually see there will be on the smaller PACCAR screen which is comparable to any AMC, Regal, etc. small version of IMAX. Please boycott seeing anything at the newly dubbed “IMAX At The Center”, and discourage anyone from going to the Space Needle until they change their minds. (As a fan of both IMAX and the Space Needle, this is not easy for me to say). Until then, this is the perfect time for SIFF to bring back the 70MM projector and start running those films in the what is the next best format for those features, and in the best theater in town with the best popcorn and employees. submitted by /u/Old_Voice_2562 |
