Power outages have always happened in Seattle, but they seem to happen way more often now (but aren’t as long). My power seems to go out once a month regardless of time of year or weather, usually for like 5-8 hours before restoration. When I was a kid, power would go out like once or twice during storm season only, but could stay out for up to a week.
My power just cut in Northeast Seattle and I heard the telltale boom of a transformer blowing so who knows how long it’ll take to restore.
