PSA: check your local storm drains for ducklings!

Found these poor babies today in a storm drain at Volunteer Park! Fortunately after hanging around for an hour and calling around for help, there was someone walking by who happened to have access to a net. He fished the ducklings out, and we returned them to mama duck together.

Net guy said this has happened very recently before at Volunteer Park as well, and it’s because storm drain holes are often so big that ducklings just slip right through. So if you’re ever near a park or other area known to have ducklings, please keep an eye out for what might be going on in the storm drains!
