A few months ago I was at Carkeek with my small, dog-aggressive dog. A man and his large-ish dog were coming towards me on a decently wide part of the trail. I immediately picked up my dog and said that he isn’t friendly. This man said that it’s ok because his dog is friendly.
This big dog came up to me and began sniffing my dog in my arms. My dog is terrified of other dogs, so he immediately started freaking out, barking, and trying to bite the other dog.
Imagine this exact situation, but my dog was bigger? This man’s unleashed dog could be dead or badly injured.
This is the 3rd time me and/or my dog have been attacked or put in a very stressful situation in Seattle because others either don’t have their dog on a leash, or have released their dog from the leash.
People need to understand that just because your dog is friendly, that doesn’t make my dog friendly! Keep your dogs on the leash or have recall that is beyond perfection (honestly, just keep em on a leash).
