Recycling truck ran over my plants. Amount to file damage claim for?

A recycling truck ran over a patch of plants in front of my house recently (was informed by a neighbor). I was shocked by the damage they caused, which required ~4 hours of cleanup (filling my whole yard waste bin and a huge yard waste bag from the hardware store). Not sure if/when the plants will recover and it looks terrible.

I called Waste Management Services and they said I could file a damage claim, but I have no idea how much to file for. Any idea what would be reasonable to claim?
