Reminder of what a human is

With the deportations going on, I think some people honestly need a reminder of what qualifies as a human being. Many people seem to imagine “illegals” as criminal beasts wearing a person’s skin, so here’s a little bit of a reality check for you. I am thirteen. My friend, (14F) is from Guatemala. She likes to put roll on body glitter on my face and hands instead of focusing on her work, she eats lunch with me and was the first person to be nice to me at this new school. She makes rude jokes to my friend group, but when it comes down to it she is an amazing friend. She has a boyfriend who she literally never stops talking about. Her family has experienced their kin being deported, and she could reasonably be as well. Does my friend sound like a dangerous criminal who needs to be banished to you? My friend in her shiny headband, my friend who draws smiley faces next to my keyboard. Does this girl seem like a dangerous monster who should be banned from going home, seeing me and our friends, seeing her boyfriend or going to school?
